AKS Committee Welcome Ambassador Choo

Ambassador Choo with members of the committee
At a lunch held on 19 July - at the Reform Club thanks to Hugh Merrill -
the Chairman and Committee members formally welcomed the ROK Ambassador HE
Mr Choo Kyu Ho. This was also an opportunity to brief him on the Society's
aims and activities, and to thank him personally, and his Embassy generally,
for their generous ongoing support for the work of the Society. The Korean
Cultural Centre in London also came in for praise. The Ambassador in turn
expressed his support for the Anglo Korean Society, now well over 50 years
old, and said he looked forward to future contact. The outlook for the
bilateral relationship was bright and the forthcoming ratification of the EU
- Korea Free Trade Agreement should help to boost business between the UK
and Korea.
